When’s the last time you missed a train by a few seconds?
Did you style it out? Remonstrate with the guard for blowing their whistle too early? Or kick the train door in frustration?
Luckily for me, there’s a “hack” at Waterloo that’s saved me a few times.
If I miss the train at 18.50, there’s another one at 18.53 that goes the same way but stops at less stations. So, I can get on ‘the 53’, get off at Surbiton, and then get on the one I missed which turns up 5 minutes later.
I imagine it’s what time travel feels like!
